I was repeatedly told that completing all compliance steps quickly was essential because the agency needed me ready to begin working in November. I prioritised everything—paid for my DBS check immediately, submitted all required documents, and responded promptly to every request so that I would meet their timeline.Despite doing everything asked of me, November arrived with no updates, no schedule, and no confirmation of any work. I contacted Teach Now several times for clarity, but each time the response was vague, inconsistent, or simply unhelpful. No one provided a clear explanation of what was happening, why the promised November start date was no longer realistic, or whether there were even roles available.What made the experience particularly disappointing was the lack of accountability. The agency had created a sense of urgency and certainty around a November start, yet when that failed to materialise, no one took responsibility for updating me. Instead, I had to chase them repeatedly, only to be met with unclear answers that left me more confused than before. Communication, consistency and accountability need significant improvement.
