8 years I'm stuck with crappy ADSL (and I do mean crappy).Every time the excuse is "Sorry Sir, Old lines", while the bills come in anyway. They have even raised prices to "pay for the fiber and 5G expansion!", which was rich! Why you ask?Well they expanded Fiber... IN THE AREA WERE VIKEN FIBER ALREADY PUT IN FIBER! Yes there are now two fiber cables in the ground there, but the people that couldn't get fiber still haven't gotten fiber. Now I hear you ask: You must live in some kind of backwards town of 2 horses and 1 man. NOPE Center of Tønsberg, they never put it in stopped right at the edge of the road so my neighbors did get Fiber from Telenor (which btw they also could already get from Viken Fiber, I KIDD YOU NOT!).Basically they must have had a share holder meeting which was "these suckers are stuck with us in the region were we don't maintain the lines anymore, where are they going to go? They can't get away, now this area with Viken Fiber, that's growth! That means share holder dividend! Screw our current customers!", as by now I can no longer excuse this behavior.Now I hear you say: You are just spoiled, in my day we had to walk to the post office in 2 meters of snow while in the hot sun and while being whipped by our mothers for not being on time!And I can see that being true... were it not that I pay more than fiber for this connection and half the time it just.. drops. The moment the apartment block goes online, the connection becomes really unstable. We cannot send files over Skype or Zoom (great to work from home during Rona XD with this connection..... you can't XD.) to each other without it dropping (as it just eats up the upstream and thus the downstream blocks out). And it more is an "Emergency Only" thing than an actual proper Internet connection. If you buy a modern console? Sucks to be you, patch sizes on PS4 and XBox One are so big that it'll take you a week to download them, that is if it doesn't drop out half the way in.Now for customer service... good grief. They are trying, and bless them for that. But outside of "Sorry Old Lines" they can't help you. As Telenor literally is not maintaining their old lines anymore. So those poor things at the other end of the phone have to deal with angry people like me who are paying for crappy services still running on technology from the 90s.Of course Telenor is keen to call you or send you spam about "The new iPhone!". Seriously this company is a joke, it's a former state company turned greedy and no longer maintains the infrastructure that they should. The state won't stop them, but clearly they have no intention of upgrading their infrastructure unless someone else (Viken FIber in this case) already put in a cable. Then they put in another cable to make sure their hostages can't escape. Horrible company, and I'm sure you can read that I'm extremely frustrated. But 8 years of overpriced CRAP does that to you. Oh well at least I do not own a TV, or I'd probably be going insane by now XD.
