I’m giving a 1-star review based on my experience with Test IO.
On the positive side, Test IO has good training materials and a friendly, supportive team lead environment. However, the account ban process is extremely rigid and unpredictable.
Users can be banned without any prior warning or notification. In my case, I had just received an email thanking me for my contributions and encouraging me for being on the right track. Yet the very next morning, I found my account had been banned.
It feels inconsistent to praise users but never provide constructive criticism or clear warnings. If there had been a warning email before the ban, users would at least have the chance to correct their behavior. If they fail to improve, then a ban would be understandable. But banning without notice is not fair.
The justification that giving notice would allow users to “erase evidence” sounds unconvincing and unprofessional.
A platform that does not respect its testers and treats them as easily replaceable will eventually face negative consequences. I hope the company reflects on this approach and improves for the future.
