My wife booked for a u3a group of 12 for Sunday lunch 2 weeks ago & she was quoted £17 per head.As she had previously collected the monies from the attendees beforehand she chose to pay the bill upon our arrival only to be told that in the meantime the cost had risen to £18.50 per head. We disputed this as we had been quoted for a booking that was 2 weeks away only to be told that costs had risen & it was beyond the control of the landlord. But as we had made a verbal contract we continued to dispute this to be told that if we weren't prepared to pay the extra we would not be served. This is outrageous & possibly even illegal. The u3a group will never return!
