We contacted The Cat Proof Fence Company around Christmas as we had just adopted our two little Beans and wanted to secure the garden to allow them space to roam whilst keeping them safe. There are a large number of cats and dogs in our area and the girls are so small and had been indoor cats previously so we wanted to make sure they were safe. We contacted several other pet fence companies at the same time to enquire and ask for quotes.A well-known pet fence company provided an outrageous quote based nothing other than a satellite Google search, and we didn’t hear from either of the other companies we contacted.Daniel, from The Cat Proof Fence Company did get back to us really quickly – and we sent the requested information, photos, dimensions of the garden etc and received a very detailed quote based on the different levels in our garden, garden furniture, as well as the breed of our cats! We were impressed and more than happy with the level of detail given in the responses and voice notes, as well as the quote and went ahead with booking in at the end of March 2026.Daniel came a day earlier than initially planned to start the job, bring equipment etc – unfortunately we had some issues with the neighbours who, although had given their consent months prior, became upset about “Their View” being disrupted by the posts being installed. Daniel took this in his stride and gave alternatives – this meant the original plan had to be re-thought for a part of our garden and most of the work he and his colleague had done on the Sunday had to be undone on Monday when replacing the posts and brackets with brackets with a lower angle to keep the neighbours “happy”.Although we were given an estimate of 6 days, the work was completed within 4/5. Everything was thought of – including a zip in the pet fencing so we can still access behind our out-building – and we can leave this open to provide an escape route for cats that may get into the garden when we’re on away from home. Daniel mostly worked on his own and was really thorough, especially on the last day, checking and rechecking everything to make sure all points of “escape” were blocked off. We let the girls out for the first time whilst Daniel was still here and it was lovely to see them in the garden. We both spoke to Daniel many times over the week. He clearly has a love for cats, and has cat proofed his own garden to keep his little terrors safe! This is clearly a business he feels passionate about which has given us peace of mind about our girls' safety. He also gave us some ideas for catifying some of the areas in our garden, and has left us with spare netting in case we choose to set up a smaller area for them to go outside without supervision (also his idea) Unfortunately, the weather has still been a bit cold but our girls have been really enjoying exploring and playing outside, and cry to be let out when we get up in the morning.
