EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

I purchased a knife on Dec 6 for my husbands birthday Jan 29. On Jan 12 I reached out to customer support for the status of my order. On Jan 13 I received...” Thanks for reaching out to us. Upon checking, you have ordered a pre-order item, which means it will be shipped in early to mid-January 2021. You will receive an email confirmation as soon as the item has been dispatch and shipped in about 1-2 weeks. We thank you for your patience. :)”. At the time of purchase, nothing was indicated that this was a “pre-order” item. And I found it odd that they stated shipment would be “mid to late Jan, and at the time of this email it WAS mid-Jan. But I tell myself to be patient. On Jan 25 I sent a second email, as I’ve searched EVERYWHERE for a phone number and can find anything, stating again that I would like a status on my order as this is a B-day gift and I’d like to AT LEAST give a status on it. This is the reply that I received on Jan 28: “ Thanks for your email! Your order is scheduled to be shipped starting January 25th onwards as per our fulfillment team for all MenWithThePot preorders, you will receive an email with the tracking number once it has been shipped. We appreciate your patience on this! 😊”As the date of this response is clearly AFTER Jan 25, and does not address my status inquiries, I assume this is a computer generated response. Now I’m looking at reviews and find this is no an isolated occurrence. I’ve also read that the knives are made in China, which is contrary to the perception of “hand-made” from “California”. Very disappointing. I thought I was getting my husband a really special gift. I’ll be contacting customer service and my credit card for a COMPLETE REFUND.
