I first came across Cam, the Dog Nutritionist when my whippet, Ruby, was about 4 or 5 months old. She is not a fussy eater (actually she’ll eat anything and everything), but I was concerned that she was getting the right foods as I’m a firm believer in ‘you are what you eat’. I put her on a home cooked diet immediately, following Cam’s recipes, and she’s been on it ever since. She is now coming up to 18 months old. I add a teaspoonful of the multi vitamin meal topper every day and she loves it. Ruby is so healthy and fit and her coat shines and she’s never needed a vet visit. Maybe it’s a coincidence but I don’t think so. I know I’ve more time than many people as I’m retired but I batch cook, weigh and freeze a month’s food at a time - a couple of casseroles (I use beef and lamb stewing steak, which is cheap and slow cooks beautifully), doing fresh veg daily. I buy chicken in bulk and I use mince (lamb, beef and pork) which I cook on the day but it only takes a few minutes. I also batch cook liver, kidney and heart - ok this isn’t pleasant (I have a fragrance candle burning whilst it’s cooking!) so I try to do enough for 3 or 4 months at a time. So I know Ruby is getting good quality meat (unlike that found in pre-prepared dog food), variety and the meal topper ensures she’s getting all the extra nutrients - it really does show in her health!
