When I enrolled in The Empath Closing School, I had spent over 3 years trying to make a sustainable life for myself as an entrepreneur living abroad. This doesn’t account for the time I took writing a book and working with an editor to get it published. The idea was to combine my love of writing with my love of mentoring people, write a book and launch my coaching career. All the while teaching English online which was a career I had known would never be one that could sustain me. I had been a guest speaker on about 15 substantial podcasts, worked with a business coach and then worked with a mindset coach. Don’t get me wrong, I have no regrets having worked with those other individuals and organizations. I have grown each step of the way. And perhaps without those experiences would not have signed up for this program. But from the moment I saw Lara Mcilwraith’s video on social media I was drawn into what she had to say. I encountered her video shortly after spending over 2 months of caring for my elderly mother who had fallen quite ill. I was reevaluating my life and wanting to make a change in the way I had been addressing the following of people I had managed to grow online. Because of this program, I came to realize that I wasn’t asking the right questions or simply taking the right approach with people and I realized I would need one more thing to push me over the edge. From the very first Live call I had with Lara, it was evident I had set my entire business up incorrectly. Within the first week of working with Lara I pivoted my business to a specific niche and immediately I had people reaching out to me. Some think I should have just took off and chase my own business again, this time with a better set of tools under my belt. But a funny thing happened. The more I worked with the Empath Closing School, the more I wanted to learn. I loved the community and I found myself inspired to work on my communication skills. I decided to dedicate my time to certifying and put my business on the back burner. I was beginning to see this opportunity as a win/win situation and that’s what it has been. I recently certified and was going to wait until I started earning because of these skills to submit a testimonial. But honestly, I have no doubt that I will start earning soon and I’ve already got people signing up for an online event I will be hosting a month from now. My experience with the Empath Closing School and specifically with the leadership of Lara has been a win/win and so much more. I will be submitting a video testimonial in the near future when I am in my new and fully sustainable life and helping others to achieve the same!
