I had my gearbox removed by a garage in ashford, and i was recommended to do a gearbox rebuild with the gearbox centre in faversham. I’ve got an online quotation for full rebuild for a price between £1200-2200, i dropped the removed gearbox to faversham. After about 2 weeks the gearbox was done, and ready to collect for a price of £2500. No problem, i did collect and paid it in full. Fitted the gearbox, at a vat registered garage, but the gearbox had 2 faults after fitting, jumped into 4th gear (automatic). Solenoid 4 fault, transmission fault came up on the dashboard, followed by the engine management light. After a conversation with the gearbox centre, they asked me to drop the car to faversham and they will have a look. Car dropped on recovery truck. After few days chase them up and they said the car has an oil leak from the engine, and it’s a risk of fire so they would not touch it. After 5 months and a lot of telephone conversations, i even asked them to remove the gearbox, keep it, refund me the money and i scrap the car. They declined any sort of solution, no refunds, not repaired either. They also claimed the car needs dpf regen, thats why the gearbox is faulty. Returned the car today back to ashford on recovery truck. Oil leak was fixed prior to gearbox rebuild, checked again for leaks and there isn’t any. The car is not leaking anymore, was no leaks(maybe some old oil, but the leak was fixed and doesn’t have a leak anymore as they claimed. Done dpf regen as well, checked for leaks, all good, no dpf issue, no oil leak, just one single fault left in the ecu, solenoid 4 in the gearbox, and doesn’t drive. Horrendous customer service, unprofessional, and they just trying to look for excuses not to repair the gearbox. Dropped the car to a local gearbox specialist, got a report on the car, they are stripping the gearbox to find the fault, will get evidence of everything, and i see you in court. Scammers, avoid !!!!
