I came across an appealing advertisement on social media about a company that promises to feed 10 stray dogs for every bracelet sold. Many individuals are purchasing these items. My suspicions arose when I requested a registered charity document, only to learn that they are neither a charity nor a non-profit, but a business with a mission. They assert that they donate funds globally to feed strays, and after my inquiry about how this works, they mentioned having worldwide volunteers feeding from local shelters. However, they did not provide any references to third parties, claiming they are a 'small' business and do not get mentioned. Upon researching the address listed on their website, I found around 18 different businesses in that complex, and they are not among them. When I inquired, they stated they don't operate from there but use it for mail purposes. They do not appear to be genuine at all. I am not particularly upset about losing $70-$80; it happens when you trust people without question. Although I usually conduct some research before making online purchases, it never crossed my mind that someone would exploit others in the name of animal welfare. It's appalling, and they should be held accountable and fined, with all proceeds going to the dogs.
