I recently purchased a Fox Frontier X bivvy from Tackle Tavern, and I am extremely disappointed with the experience. When I inquired about the Vapour Peak, I was told to join a waiting list for when it was back in stock, which implied it was still available to purchase. I agreed and completed my purchase of the bivvy under that impression. However, after a month of silence and multiple follow-ups, I contacted Fox directly and was told that the Vapour Peak had been discontinued. I then reached out to Tackle Tavern to ask if I could return the bivvy and purchase an alternative, but I was refused, as I had used the bivvy twice, and they offered only store credit of £320 for an item I paid £499 for just four weeks earlier. What’s more frustrating is that they continued to tell customers six weeks after I raised my concerns to add their names to an email list for an item that was no longer in production. When I questioned the need for the Vapour Peak, I was told it’s not required and that I shouldn't need it, which is misleading since it was a crucial part of the product to prevent condensation.Overall, I feel misled and disappointed, especially since I was led to believe the item was coming back into stock when it was actually discontinued. My friend's recommendation of Tackle Tavern as a reputable shop now feels misplaced. Very disappointed with how this was handled.
