Very disappointing experience with Thomas Cook.
I booked a holiday to Turkey in March 2026. Only a few days later the war in the region started and at the same time the government was advising essential travel only. Because of this, I contacted Thomas Cook immediately to ask what options were available.
I was not asking for a free cancellation. I simply wanted to know if I could change the travel dates or choose another destination without losing the full cost of the flights. Unfortunately, I was not given any meaningful options. The only solution offered was cancellation with significant charges, including paying the full cost of the flights.
Customer support was extremely limited. Communication was only through messages, responses were minimal, and it was very difficult to get clear information or speak to someone directly. There is no office to visit and no easy way to resolve issues properly.
This made an already stressful situation much worse. The lack of flexibility and customer-focused support was very disappointing. Based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to book with Thomas Cook again.
