In October of 2022, Jim Van Camp, owner of Cornerstone Custom Shutter Installations came to my house, built in 1858, to double check my measurements for new Timberlane Shutters. Having talked to him previously, he knew I didn't have confidence in my measurements for new shutters. Thank goodness he came. I was way off base with my numbers. Timberlane makes some of the best shutters in the world and I was excited about having them installed on my classic brick townhouse. Jim is Timberlane's primary shutter installer. He spent two hours going over every measurement of my windows. Without his professional help, my new shutters would have looked like they belonged on a haunted house. Jim helped me correct my order and delivered the shutters about two weeks later and did the installation, helped by his assistant Louis. He previously had explained to me the various options I had to secure everything. I just said, "Jim, do what you would do if this were your house." Jim and Louis were extremely personable, as well as professional and knowledgeable. Recently, in May 2024, I had a new roof installed on my home. Unfortunately, the roofers missed some of their tarps throwing the asphalt shingles off the roof, and scratched four of my new shutters, I called Jim Van Camp and he told me exactly what to do in considering my options. The roofing company followed his instructions using the Prime Black paint Jim sent me. Jim explained how to test the back of one of the shutters with the new paint. At the factory, they used industrial sprayers to paint the shutters. The roofers went out and bought one. One of their employees was very experienced in using an industrial sprayer and did a very good job re-spraying the shutters, following Jim's instructions to the tee. Today, 6/7/2024, the roofers re-installed the shutters and they look brand new, like the day Jim originally installed them. Jim refused any compensation for the additional paint and the incredible peace of mind he gave me. Quite simply, Jim is the best shutter installer in the country.
