Timeshare Specialists are for real!

Let me start by saying that I never write reviews. And I mean NEVER! However, I felt this one was important because I can only imagine that there are many, many people out there that are fed up with their timeshares like we were and worse, even more that are fed up with all of the companies saying they can get you out of your timeshare. I also want to add that I am a very discriminating customer and if everything is not perfect, I can get very ornery very quickly. After checking out Timeshare Specialists thoroughly last summer, my wife and I decided to "take our chances" and committed to using their services. They had quoted that it may take a few months for the property to sell and I thought that was optimistic. Well, they were spot on! Everything went super smooth with the set up and they did a great job of keeping in touch thruout the process. And if I decided I needed an occassional update, I called or sent Alissa Ross an email and she was super responsive every single time. Never more than a 1 day delay in response time. Usually same day. And at about the 3 month mark, we were informed that the property sold and we were billed the original quoted amount (no more - no less). After we paid their fee, the closing was scheduled for late Oct and the title was transferred at the county level in a timely fashion. I really could not have asked for a better experience, and frankly, I am still amazed that it sold and it's finally out of our life - after paying maintenance fees for 20 years and only getting to use it two times! To us, the fee to Timeshare Specialists was well worth it many times over as we could have been looking at those maint fees for the next 20 years - or longer! This story gets even better! After the deed transferred at the county level, Alissa told me that it may take up to two months for Wyndham to complete the transfer internally and that we should expect to pay the maint fee for Nov and Dec and by then, everything should be done. I thought this was odd since we technically no longer owned the property (I had the recorded deed from the county to prove that fact) and I even called Wyndham (many times) to see if this was true and they confirmed that their internal transfer had to be completed before we were "off the hook" for the maint fee. Kind of ridiculous but we went along with it. Well, we got to late Dec and we decided to stop the auto draft of the maint fee from our checking account for the Jan payment. I figured two payments after the deed was transferred out of my name was more than enough and I was done with this - period! Well, Wyndham still hadn't transferred the property internally so guess what we got in mid January 2020? A late notice that our Jan payment was past due!?! I was furious and called Alissa at TS immediately and after doing her own research with Wyndham, confirmed that they were running way behind and that in fact, we still had to pay the maint fee until this was transferred at Wyndham. Having been in real estate and mortgage lending for many years, I basically said No WAY! Not even close to acceptable. It seemed impossible to put any pressure on Wyndham as they just had a "Well we don't care - that's the way it is" philosophy. So I told Alissa I refused to pay this or any future bills for late maint payments as I no longer owned the property. Alissa came back and told me to send her the bill and that they (Timeshare Specialist) would take care of it. So, I faxed it to her and it was paid! I then got a late notice in mid Feb for the Feb bill. I called Wyndham Got nowhere. I called Alissa and she said to send it to her and they (TS) would take care of it. Again - TS paid that bill! Just this week, I finally received confirmation that Wyndham had completed the internal transfer and that the transaction is complete. I would highly recommend Timeshare Specialists to get you out of your timeshare.
