Overall an excellent tour of Egypt. Our guide Ayman was top-notch. He made everything as easy as possible, and Egyptologist John brought it all to life.
I gave four stars because I thought the group was too big. I’ve never been on a tour with 38 others, although Ayman and John wrangled us well, to their credit.
Also, while Alexandria is a famous city, everything we saw was Greco-Roman, which we can see in the U.K. I would have preferred to spend the day looking around Cairo as although we stayed in an excellent hotel, it was a long way from the city so we didn’t get a flavour of the capital.
Highlights were the phenomenal new Grand Egyptian Museum, Abu Simbel and Valley of the Kings.
