We Are an online business in the Republic of Ireland. We constantly receive EMails for outstanding VAT and Import charges. We always pay the VAT, we have no problem paying VAT, everyone has to pay it, so no problem at all.We sell classic car parts. We have received invoices for carpets, which have an address in Dublin?. We live in Co Mayo, and a completely different name to us all together. We have sent proof of payment for VAT payments, and also indicated that we do not import carpets, but car parts.Does anyone listen, does anyone from Fedex call us, Does anybody from Fedex take any notice?, do Fedex answer any phone calls? do Fedex do anything.Simple answer is NO. Firstly, they are not Customs and Excise, and have no power or control, they are a transport company. They are not allowed to hold any items for which you have paid a delivery for. Holding items for which you have paid for and are not delivering is classed as theft. The letters they send are demanding money with menaces, which they are not allowed by law to do.The company deserves to go out of business. If anyone wants to take this matter further and by the sound from the feedback, they do, then let the people speak, and go to the relevant authorities to close these people down.
