Tokopedia (as well as other similar platforms) has given Indonesians access to a whole new world of buying and selling opportunities. The transactions themselves usually work well, mainly driven by sellers wanting to collect good reviews. So far the good news... Bad news is that Tokopedia's customer service is terrible (useless bot-answers mostly), account verification sucks (totally relying on SMS which Telkomsel users can't receive) and there is no screening of product providers it seems (with at least half of all offerings being either re-sellers, inactive shops or duplications). While online shopping has immensely improved general quality of life in Indonesia, the platform providers have a lot to improve, Tokopedia in particular.
