I was advised by someone in the finance department that I could pay off my vehicle by paying the account online. I subsequently sent Toyota Canada $7000 online on December 23rd. I then called the finance department to ensure they had the money and was told they had the money, but I had been given misinformation. The $7000 would be sent out in a check shortly but in the interim, I had to go into Toyota and pay off the vehicle. I was told that I could not apply the 7000 to the purchase. I then went into a Toyota Canada on January 4th and paid off the vehicle in full. I subsequently contacted Toyota Canada, since then on at least four occasions asking when the $7000 check will be mailed. On January 16th, I was told that the check was mailed that morning. On January 23rd, I was told by another customer service agent that the check was in the mail. I called today on January 29th and was told that the check was never mailed. I tried to file a formal complaint, and I was told that a formal complaint could not be filed because Toyota Canada did not have the financial details and they put me through to a woman in the finance department who was irritated that I was upset and she said she would follow up personally, but I have my doubts as a customer service agent also said he would follow up personally. I am going to file with small claims court
