2024 Tacoma Roof Rack

Do not buy a roof rack for the new Toyota Tacoma. It is a piece of crap. I had 3200KM on my truck when I heard a very LOUD vibration. I initially thought it was the highway road noise. It happened again, this time only louder. Obviously I took it back to my dealership. They test drove it and said, " It was a bent drivetrain?" Had the drivetrain replaced and they assured me that they had fixed the issue. NOPE... took it out and it was still there. Long story short, had to take it in, the Service Manager took it for a test drive and declared it was the " Roof Rack" that was making all the noise. I was not convinced. So, the decision was made to remove the rack to ensure that is where the noise was coming from. Sure enough the noise was gone. So now what??? We travel throughout Canada and the USA and the noise is so bad we cannot drown it out with music or anything else. The only option is for me to have it removed. Keep in mind this is a $2000.00 accessory that I thought we needed so we could attach a Thule. I tired to work with my dealership but of course they had to go through Toyota Canada. I was prepared to trade it out with a Tonneau cover and sell my Thule. My service manager has been dealing with Customer Relations Toyota Canada . He said " They have responded that there have been several reports of this issue from other Dealerships as well. Toyota Canada is aware of the issue and is working to towards a resolution to resolve this issue and take care of the vibrations/noise concerns. Since this isn't necessarily a safety issue and is something that can be fixed/ addressed properly , customer relations have not offered a reimbursement at this time." I cannot believe that Toyota Canada will not take care of their customers. Tony Kelly is the Vice President of Customer Support & Service Operations, and Product Quality and Service Support. I bet he will not hear or see this complaint. That is unfortunate as Toyota Canada will continue to sell this product knowing that it is defective and that there are issues. I cannot wait for a resolution, I am disappointed with Toyota Canada, I am stuck with a piece of crap, they will continue to sell it and tell the customers " sorry, we are working in a solution...Who knows when that will happen??
