I just bought a Toyota 2019 corolla hatchback. Apparently I bought it too late because as of a month ago the only app I could use to have maps on my infotainment system (in car screen system) was discontinued. The car itself I really like, but after unhelpful information on their website about compatible apps (they tell you to check the app store for what's compatible even though there's no way to check that) and emails saying the same thing. I waited on customer service hold for an hour just to find out that it is only APPLE PHONE compatible. Meaning I can't connect with my android. This is a vehicle. An EXPENSIVE purchase and they don't have ANDROID. Not only does this seem like a gigantic oversight but a huge safety hazard for half the population. On one of the most popular cars. It's such a ridiculous thing that it brings everything else way down. Maps are so important to navigation and the fact I can't look at the screen that already exists and is bigger than a small phone screen is unforgivable. It's 2023 and not like it's hard. This isn't some silly app for something that barely makes a difference. It's a CAR. And the fact that now, in order to have easy and safe navigation I have to go buy a second phone that is specifically apple is a huge slap in the face. Half your users are android. Figure it out. You are a large company. You can afford a tech guy to create compatibility with android. Never heard of something so ridiculous
