The travel agent was highly responsive and processed a refund that aligned with the agency’s profit. I believe the establishment should consider reimbursing the travel service. A few months ago, we arrived at the establishment and received key cards for a lovely room with a stunning view of the sea pool. However, management should have informed us at the front desk that the 12 prepaid boat dives had been canceled. While it was understandable that shore diving was unavailable due to Hurricane Melisa and the dive boats were secured on the other side of the island, it was disappointing that not all dive boat operators were as cautious. Management and the dive shop staff could have better communicated off-site diving options, issued refunds for prepaid boat trips, and arranged alternative shore diving. Since unlimited free tanks for shore diving were included in the package but couldn’t be used on the house reef, they could have permitted us to take tanks off-site, similar to the practice at another location. A short drive south revealed a calm sea with a dive boat peacefully floating. How did we discover this? Thanks to a friendly Englishman named Luke, who had extensive experience diving with the establishment. We met him in the pool, enjoying time with his family. Luke truly saved our diving vacation and kindly introduced us to his wonderful family and friends. He took the time to inquire about the well-being of fellow divers and asked if we had been diving. The next morning, we joined him and his daughter on a dive boat, and meeting the skilled and welcoming crew, many of whom were former managers, was a great relief.
