I booked an international return flight through a travel service, and everything seemed fine until my domestic flight was cancelled, preventing me from reaching my destination in time for my long-haul journey. That's when I realized how minimal the support from the service truly is when issues arise. I initially contacted them by phone and was told to accept a voluntary misconnection, which would have left me financially responsible despite the airline's cancellation being out of my control. When I requested this advice in writing, communication completely ceased. Messages sent through their support channel went unanswered while I was stranded at the airport in a critical situation. After hours, they finally responded, but only to reiterate their previous stance. They refused to assist unless I agreed to take full financial liability. No effort was made to support me, protect my booking, or even reach out to the airline. To make matters worse, the airline’s English support was inaccessible, with their phone system only in Mandarin and their inbox full. The travel service was aware of this but still refused to help or provide practical assistance. They later confirmed via email that they would not assist since my domestic flight wasn’t booked through them, even though a competent agent would at least help with communication or guidance in such circumstances. In conclusion: the service will take your money, but when issues arise, you are left to fend for yourself. There is no real support, urgency, or willingness to help unless it serves their financial interests. If you expect assistance during disruptions, I highly recommend booking with another provider.
While the booking process was smooth, our flights were cancelled, and we agreed to a full refund. Five months later, the refund has not been processed, and excuses keep coming. A formal dispute is now in place. I advise against booking through this service. The customer experience has been disappointing, and there are better options available.
