First I should say the experience of actually booking the service was excellent, whoever operates the whatsapp does a great job but unfortunately that's where it ends. Before booking, I sent a video of the flat listing all the items that needed moving and showing the clothes etc in the wardrobe. I asked several times if the quote was accurate based on the video to be told 'I think we have most things'. I also at this point asked if the quote included VAT to which I was told yes. I had listed all large items but obviously hadn't included the specific detail of which clothes. I had booked a packing service, removals, delivery and end of tenancy clean. I checked in advance if the cleaner came with their own equipment, to which i was also told yes. On the day the two packing and removal men arrived but didn't bring the wardrobe boxes. So all my clothes were shoved into normal boxes. I was then told they had used 8 more normal boxes than quoted for and would be charged £40. 15 boxes cost £50 so i don't know how that adds up. One of the removal men was doing all the work whilst the other (Sam I think) was primarily on the phone to the boss. It was then it became clear he was telling the boss the job was bigger than quoted and I should pay more money. Bearing in mind I had sent a full video of all items. I was put onto the boss who asked for the money and when i questioned it, was told to 'be more grateful and say thank you' and that 'I should appreciate him'. At this point I felt very intimidated as a solo female but just wanted the job done.It was shortly after that I was told the cleaning team was arriving without products or a hoover, despite me checking. I was told they could 'buy things in sainsbury's' which for the price, didn't seem sufficient so it was cancelled. I will now likely incur a cost with my landlord. No compensation was offered, other than a refund on the cost of the boxes & clean that wasn't conducted, I was only being consistently asked for more money. On arrival at my destination, they would not unload the items until I had paid the balance which is fine. But Sam was busy writing down random numbers on a piece of paper despite the fact I had an updated invoice. We eventually agreed and I paid the amount by transfer (which was listed as an option on the invoice). 20 minutes later Sam told me I had to pay VAT, at this point i was stressed and paid. Despite the fact that I had clarified with the booking person that VAT was already included in the quote. As I went to drive off, he came running after me saying the boss wanted another £40 but it was unclear why. The whole experience was stressful, upsetting and unprofessional. The second driver did an amazing job and I should say I tipped them both £40 in cash. My issue was with whoever is managing the operation and trying to extort extra charges. It seemed as though Sam was under pressure to find additional ways to charge more throughout the day. I have the messages to show where I ask if VAT is included and if 15 boxes will be enough in relation to the video. This company owes me money which I suspect I will never see again.It is a complete scam and avoid at all costs.
