I wanted to leave a proper detailed review of UK Smiles / Land of Smiles in Turkey because I was petrified of the dentist in the UK and this experience has honestly changed everything for me.
Before I even booked, Eda was amazing on WhatsApp — any question I had was answered super quickly. I even asked for a call, and she arranged one the next afternoon to go through my list of questions 😂. I messaged on 11th Feb, flew 23rd Feb, and came home 28th Feb — all very smooth and clear. All I had to do was book flights!
First appointment: I was greeted warmly by everyone. The X-ray only took a few minutes, then I met Selin for a consultation. She explained everything clearly and made sure I understood the process. Then Dentist Furkan Baser and assistant Gokce started shaving my teeth. Furkan explained everything I’d feel, topped up the numbing whenever needed (which is amazing — couldn’t feel anything for hours 😂), and Gokce was super gentle clearing my mouth. I left with temporary teeth while the crowns were made.
Appointment 2: Root canal and four extractions. I was nervous to the point of feeling sick but the team was so reassuring. Firat Ergin did the root canal — didn’t feel a thing. Then Mahmut Erkal and Kadir did the extractions; I felt only pressure and a few cracking sounds. 25–30 minutes later it was done, stitched, and I was so relieved. Headphones helped massively 100%.
Appointments 3 & 4: First crown fitting with Furkan and Gokce — they showed me the crowns before cementing and explained everything. One tiny adjustment was needed, and they sent them back to the lab to get it perfect. Final fitting the next day was painless, crowns cemented, bite adjusted, and I was over the moon.
Appointment 5: Final check-up after numbness wore off, small bite adjustment, and done. My mum came along and they also checked her jaw pain that she was experiencing and let her know what that was from, very helpful. (she has never had work done here so jaw pain was not from here)
Hotel: Stayed at Lara Suites — nice rooms, 5–10 mins from clinic. Breakfast was fine for soft foods. There’s a WhatsApp takeaway leaflet for foods and soft foods made for people who have had dental work, open late (~2–3AM), and a shop 5–10 mins walk. WiFi was free and perfect.
Transfers: Smooth, friendly driver, never late, very helpful.
Clinic: Modern, spacious, clean, free drinks, rooftop terrace with sea and mountain views. Reception staff were polite and welcoming, always offered drinks.
Honestly, this experience has been life-changing. From the communication, professionalism, and patience of every staff member, to finally having all my teeth crowned (except wisdom teeth) and procedures pain-free — I cannot recommend them enough. I’m sure I’ve probably missed a few people, but everyone there was amazing with me. 10/10 experience!
