I paid $499 for a BossWeld MST185 (Tig torch not included and DC TIG only) and got spare tips, liner for the MIG torch to handle Steel MIG wire and got spare 0.8mm and 0.9mm contact tips.Wanted to upgrade to AD/DC TIG to weld Aluminium.Did some looking around and found Unimig. Watched all the advertising etc and the Envy 230 looked like a good model. So thought would bite the bullet, even if I was just going to use for home stuff, and to upgrade the BossWeld.Going from a $500 welder to a $3000 welder, I couldn't wait !Living to regret this now.I paid $3000 ($2999) for an Envy 230. Mig torch came with a "universal starter liner" that apparently not too good to use continually (Long Term) with steel MIG wire or Aluminium and recommended to change for the Aluminium or Steel liner. It's a "starter" liner.So I purchased the Aluminum liner to only find out it didn't come with the required "spring" and had to go back to the supplier again to purchase the additional part (Which "should" be supplied with the liner in my opinion and the same consensus from the retailer ). I know they will probably say the next liner can re-use the spring, but wouldn't you be better replacing both ? If the Teflon is worn out, surely you should also change the spring ?The only contact tip supplied and fitted was for Aluminum. Unimig's feed back was supplying extra tips would "add cost". For $3000, I would have expected them to supply at least one of each size and at least supply a tip not for Aluminium since I would guess, people would be buying a combo welder with TIG to use with Aluminium and most likely are using Stick or MIG before "upgrading" to this model ? I mean how much are the tips ? Their cost probably less than $1 each ?I mean at least supply one or two 0.8mm, 0.9mm contact tips and a contact tip holder, gas diffuser and one spare nozzle in a plastic baggie ? What's that cost them ? $5 ? They supply a Steel liner. Great ! But how about some tips to go with that liner in the box ? I have a couple of dozen M6 tips for the BossWeld in all types (0.8mm, 0.9mm Steel. 1mm, 1.2mm Al). The torch supplied used M8. So no go there.For $3000, they supply a radioactive Thoriated Tungsten(Red), 2.5mm. Thoriated Tungsten is always something I wanted to steer clear of. They could have supplied Lanthanated or Rare Earth Tungstens for the $3000 price tag. Must be trying to get rid of their Thoriated Tungstens (Being sceptical here :)Could have at least supplied a short back for the Tungsten. Maybe pushing my luck on this suggestion. But alas, NO. An extra $19 purchase.I really would expect more accessories included in the box so I could use the welder out of the box on FluxCore or solid wire and not had to pay out an additional $425+ for parts so I could start using this thing as I was expecting, out of the box for $3000. Instead of "Would you like fries with this", they are "Would you like to buy our Mig and Tig kits" to give you what you might need for a $3000 Welder, some parts of which should be included, so we can make even more money out of you ? At least $5 worth of consumables ?Two weeks of having to buy extras to use this thing and now just about to test to see if it works on the weekend. The BossWeld was up and running, right out of the box with all the extras and even included a small roll of fluxcore wire (I have not even used it all after 5 years) ! This $3000 Welder ? Zip. Nada.Really disappointed with this purchase from day one. Wish I could return, but too many trips buying needed parts not supplied in the box. In for the penny. In for the pound now, but.....Now the dealer says I should get a pedal for this to get full TIG use with variable current. Now I have to fork out ANOTHER $400+ for a pedal wired or wireless ? Pedals come with most brands sold in the USA as far as I can see in order to do variable amperage TIG.This is a bridge too far for me. Disappointment from day one.Suggest you really do your research before buying Unimig to compare the value of what's included. They don't even list what is included in the PDF manual and which liner is installed or the contact tip (For Aluminium).I am going to sell all this, after testing to make sure it at least works, for $2500 on Gumtree and take a $1000 loss just to hopefully get rid of it quick, because every time I look at this expensive Welder, I feel like such an idiot and feel nauseous even looking at this thing.Excitement to disappointed as soon as I unboxed.BossWeld A+++ Great ValueUnimig D- Value sucks. If it works as advertised, might change to a C. Didn't give an E since at least their online chat support and emails were good. That's the only positive experience I have had so far with this brand.
