I tried to buy a "subscription" to UrthBox for my mom for Christmas back in November. When I went to check out, it was actually a gift card for up to 3 months worth of UrthBox snacks. It was shady and strange, but they claim to have gluten free options so I went with it. When my mom used the gift card, they forced her to sign up for a longer subscription and even though she had canceled, ended up charging her. It was flagged as fraudulent by her financial institution, but today she let me know that the charge went through after she had been forced to get a new debit card. Additionally, she had tried to contact them in February because of their inclusion of non-gluten free snacks in her shipment and no one ever responded. This was the worst gift I could have given someone. If you have similar issues, report them to the Federal Trade Commission.Edit in response to Urthbox’s auto-reply: I don’t have or want an account. It was a gift that has been an ongoing frustration for the recipient. Change your practices.
