I tried to contact support about something relatively simple. The website says to use Twitter. (?!?)Doing so obviously doesn't reach anyone who responds, I don't know why this is even listed as an option. Then, going to open a support ticket, the site is just flat out broken, you can't submit the ticket, it just keeps clearing required fields. Then when you launch a different browser and pray for it to work, it claims to have opened a ticket but none appears in your queue.Whatever, I'm over it, shopping for a new DC because this is just ridiculous.
Simply perfect! We needed a fast turnaround on a dedicated server and they did not disappoint. Phil, our sales person, came up with a good custom configuration and the bare metal dedicated system was up and running extremely quickly (within hours). He then personally provided instructions on the setup. The OVHcloud portal guides you through the setup, even to the point of installing your chosen OS and allowing you to customize the drives before starting. Although a fairly small system, our server is fast and reliable. In fact, we are working on building more servers right now with OVHcloud. A good Technology company with personal service and support.
I've been using OVH for several years now, and I have to give special recognition to Bob, our account specialist. His responsiveness has been absolutely exceptional, He is always available and incredibly helpful. His willingness to go the extra mile and satisfy our requests has made our experience much smoother than anticipated. We've primarily utilized their dedicated servers, which offer exceptional value with great specs at competitive pricing points, and the inclusion of unlimited bandwidth is a valuable feature in today's hosting market. The only thing I would like to see improved is their edge firewall, it definitely needs more rules and more features like UDP tracking and port range support.
I’ve had nothing but good experiences with their VPS service. For small applications like websites, Discord bots, and others it works great! Heck, my longest lasting VPS with them has been well over 3 years, and it’s mainly used to make leaflet maps. The only downside is their advertising for game server use. While the VPS handles many tasks well, I’ve tried hosting Minecraft, Palworld, Terraria, and a variety of other game servers, and it always chokes at a certain point. For general VPS needs they’re excellent, but I can’t recommend them for game hosting.
Recently, I wrote a public review about OVH US. In the meantime, they closed the internal ticket as "resolved" without having resolved anything and without any apology for the mess caused. Instead, the reputation management took over here on Trustpilot what is worth a dedicated review:1. The “grace period” mentioned for paying invoices at OVH US is 7 days by default, so the due date is effectively the 7th. You may also call it the deadline. Afterwards, as the reputation management confirmed publicly, the server gets suspended and, “shortly after this”, terminated with unclear exact deadlines and TOS. So operating a server at OVH US is a high risk as you will lose all your data if you - for whatever reason - failed to pay your invoice within 7 days, even if you opened a ticket in advance to get one or two days extension.2. The reputation management ignored the highly unprofessional demand of their web chat to provide screenshots of your local machine for identification while being logged in to their system. Furthermore, they ignored the fact that the chatters promised the billing department could extend the payment deadline, while the billing department refused and declined being able to do so.3. In contrast to the statement of their reputation management, their practices go far beyond what is “pretty common for IaaS providers.” The most trustworthy and relevant competitors in their region, such as Leaseweb and Interserver, have an actual deadline of about three weeks (see my other reviews).4. Furthermore, OVH US is not a global operator at all; they only provide servers in the US at two locations, actually one location (Hillsboro) for dedicated servers. Entities on other continents are mainly managed by OVH in France, which is legally a completely autonomous entity; they both just operate under the name OVH.5. Regardless of where the chatters of the web chat are located, reputation management confirmed that their chatters are a third-party provider, having access to all of your personal data. Thus, it's out of their control from where they actually work and which data protection rules they adhere to.6. Reputation management failed to address the total mess that their support caused. Instead, they continued their presumptuous behavior in teaching an already troubled customer even more, blaming the customer publicly for being responsible for the mess and not understanding how things are running in the IT business. The conclusion: They either use a very poor AI for generating their ticket responses as well as for their online reputation management - or they intentionally act in such an aggressive, presumptuous and unprofessional manner! As a consequence, I will terminate the contract at the earliest date possible. Whatever they come up with here again, it will be ignored! My previous two-star rating now ended up being a one-star rating with the strong recommendation: Stay away from this provider! q.e.d.
