I began using the square connect device to my android phone when we first began about 2014-2015, however, never really had to use it b/c for the 1st 5 years we our annual fundraising and other events were free to whomever wanted to attend; however, due to the recession we bagan charging our guests which, I still didn't have to use the square connect phone devices b/c now my guests were registering your event fundraising charitable event either via our direct website, or via Cashapp- we no longer needed to use the square connect phone devices especially now that electronic epay company(s) are flourishing - making it much easier for someone to pay us or us paying for something we may have purchased from a vendor. Even the majority of banks have incorporated a Zelle pay for individuals to pay company's via Zelle, provided they have a zelle account at the receiving bank. Honestly, I find it a lot safer too when my guests purchase their annual fundraising tickets online opposed to in person at the event b/c, you never know who may be watching you while you're using your credit or debit card at an event where you hardly know no-one.
