Square suddenly deactivated my account without any real explanation. When I called customer support to resolve the issue, I faced long holds and rude, unprofessional behavior. The representative I spoke to got agitated when I mentioned I was recording the call—something Square does too—and then hung up on me without helping.I understand that Square’s terms allow them to close an account for any reason or no reason, just as I can close my account at any time. But even if this is legally allowed, it doesn’t make it right. What Square does not have the right to do is hold someone’s money for six months without offering a clear, valid reason. If I behaved this way toward them, it would rightly be considered rude and unacceptable.The follow-up emails provided no real answers—just vague statements about holding my funds for 180 days. This lack of transparency is unprofessional and unfair.If you value clear communication and fair treatment, stay away from Square. Their terms may protect them legally, but they don’t excuse how poorly they treat customers.(They replied to this review. Their reply is as unhelpful as their emails.)
