Squareup seems to financial difficulties. They are using "Fraud Detection" as an excuse to not pay transactions. We had a preapproved (by our customer) transaction. Squareup sent a third party request for additional information. Information they already had. This is information like business license (which we provided previously). We filled that out. A day later a second request came in for more information that they should already have, plus how do we find customers, how and where to do we market. Then after filling that out, they continue to delay saying their department is only available on certain hours. I seriously doubt the legitimacy of this request. They asked me to download and resubmit invoices from their platform. I asked who the outsourced platform was and they said it was theirs; however, I have seen the same form on 6 other fintech platforms. Seems very sneaky and illegitimate business practice. I am filing a second complaint with the Federal Trade commission. I would recommend anyone considering this platform to move off quickly, transfer all balances to real bank, and find an alternative solution. I certainly would not store any money in their free bank accounts for 1 minute longer than required.
