I have been a square customer since 2022. I loved the service and highly recommended it to other artist friends. However, in the past few months Square has made it apparent that they do not care about their smaller user's needs. If you are a small artist that does primarily commission work, and need a fast and easy way to create private listings for your client from your phone, Square doesn't want you or your money.They used to have an easy to navigate online back end. They've now changed it, and in order to create item listings or access your orders, you need to go to a part of their site that does not load properly on mobile.Without offering a dashboard app for mobile, it's baffling to me that they've gutted their mobile browser compatibility. It now takes me upwards of 15 minutes to get anything done in the back end when it used to take under 5.In addition to the non mobile friendly changes, they've taken away the "copy item link" option. So now when you create a hidden listing, you've got no way to find it.Instead they're pushing for you to use a "pay now" button. This is not helpful to my business, I want my clients to be able to look over the details before asking for money. I can't have the listing publicly displayed either as it is for a custom commission. When I reached out to customer service, the folks I dealt with were pleasant but I was ultimately told there's nothing to be done.And then I was reached out to by the weebly side of customer service, they asked me to verify my information and then completely ghosted me.I am so deeply unhappy with Square. These changes are such an incredible disappointment. How hard is it to keep a simple thing like "copy item link". It has made it very clear that I'm not the type of user they care about. My needs are simple, they just want bigger operations than me.This is no longer the service I originally paid for.If you're a small artist looking to get off of Etsy, this is not the place for you.
