Square has gone downhill over the years. In my opinion, they are no longer a good fit for people who are actually running brick and mortar stores. Their fees really are no longer friendly to small businesses and their new generation of stands are a joke. I have had 2 break within 3 months of having them and then support just wants to run you through pointless troubleshooting instead of just owning up and getting me a new one. They literally get about $100,000 grand from me each year in processing fees, but don't care when the thing that processes, they payments no longer works. Just spent about 20 minutes with chat to get about 4 sentences from the support agent. Sad when good companies go south. I will be looking for a new processor shortly. Update: Yes I understand their is a warranty but it took me 2 HOURS!!!!!! to go through the process on line. 2 HOURS to chat with someone, wait ten minutes for a reply, to be told the item isn't under warranty because my receipt said the last return was x date. Then wait another 10 minutes to be told it was under warranty. Another 10 minutes for the rep to write up the claim, etc, etc. WE ARE RUNNING BUSINESSES I DON'T HAVE TIME TO WAIT FOR 2 HOURS FOR YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Your company used to care about the little business, but no longer, you only care about the amount of money you make. Do BETTER!
