A transaction did not go through

I called Square because one of my client's transaction did not go through. I called customer support to find out if there was a glitch in their system. I was transferred to Omar who told me I had to consent to revealing my information in order to proceed and the consent included allowing a 3rd party to listen in. I told him that was a pretty broad statement, could I talk to a supervisor? After 20 min he got back to me and said the supervisor would not talk to me unless I consented. All I wanted to know was if there was a glitch in the system. Seems like a heavy handed response for a simple question. It was time consuming to call Square; it was embarrassing for the person who wrongfully had his card declined, and the policy does not make sense. I was essentially consenting to allow a 3rd party whom I did not know to be privy to information about myself without knowing what information would be asked. In this day and age, that should not be permissible. I also find it odd that there is no direct Google review for Square. To research their customer satisfaction you have to go to sites like these! After 7 years it is time to move on! Maybe Omar did me a favor!
