I wish I could have used Square for my harm reduction not-for-profit because the platform would have greatly simplified my operation. I distribute, on a sliding scale, essential drug-checking equipment such as reagents and immunoassay test strips in the spirit of public health and safety. These products are widely embraced and understood as fundamentally necessary products to assist those struggling with use disorders to keep safe, especially in today's landscape where one can almost bank on the presence of life-threatening adulterants in substances of abuse. Look up the term "harm reduction" to get an idea of this. Nobody in the real world considers these materials paraphernalia, but online payment processors certainly do.Anyway, my grievance with Square is that they sent me an email telling me that my business cannot use their services, then they charged me for them anyway and never responded to my request for either a review or a refund. I got neither, and it's been I think a couple of weeks now. Really just want to use the service since my business does not even actually violate the terms. But, short of that, I'm pretty broke and would not mind getting my money back for a product I am not even allowed to use.
