This one is a difficult review only because with certain things, the VA is amazing... but on others, holy hell do they suck. I am a rated disabled vet and I have used their support in mental health (they are great there, sooo understaffed) but getting to the point of service isn't easy and there isn't a well established step-by-step guide that will help you from the start to actually seeing a medical doctor. I will give this advice, when you do get to the point to where you are assigned a dr, DO YOUR HOMEWORK! They literally hold the keys to your health (literally life and death stuff). If you are gay, ask the social workers if they know of any gay friendly Drs. If you are a women, BE VERY specific about the type of Dr you want. If you have any underline health conditions, YOU MUST STEP UP TO THE PLATE and ask (nicely demand) to see a specialist that can help you. Do not accept the "we don't have one on staff"... If that is true, they are allowed to have you seen with civilian drs. Do a little homework and know your rights! You put your life down to support the country; the country must take care of you if you are in need.
