We spent 17 days going to 5 different locations in Costa Rica.Prior to our trip, we did some research and told Caitlin what was important to us. After Caitlin had our itinerary done, we spent 90 minutes on the phone with her going over every detail of our planned trip, including where we were going to stay and the excursions. Every place was a unique experience. We visited the cloud forest and the rain forest. We rode in a boat 90 minutes to an island and we stayed in primitive cabins. We could see monkeys climbing in the trees around us, we saw gorgeous birds and an otter playing and so much more. We gathered vegetables and then cooked a meal with a Costa Rican family. We stayed at a beautiful unique hotel that had a sloth that lived in a tree by the pool and also monkeys playing in the trees. We spent time with the Bri Bri indigenous clan and made coffee and hot chocolate with them, starting from the coffee beans. We stayed at a hot springs resort with the view from our rooms of Arenal Volcano. These are just a few of our experiences that we had.The last night before we left we went up a mountain in San Jose where we could look over the city with all the lights enjoying a Costa Rican meal and watching dancers performing Costa Rican dances. Costa Rica is beautiful, echo friendly and we found that the people are gracious hosts.I have traveled many places and usually don't go back because there are to many beautiful places in the world to see. However, I plan on going back to Costa Rica because we had such a great experience and that was because Caitlin listened to what was important to us and made this trip, ours.
