The travel team was also very helpful during a challenging situation. While in Tamarindo my husband had a medical emergency that required him to be airlifted to a surgeon in San Jose (about a 4.5 hour drive from us). My children and I were not able to accompany him. It was scary and stressful, especially being so far from home. The in-country team checked in with us repeatedly and handled the complicated logistics of getting him back to us after his hospital stay. They also checked in after our return home. We truly appreciate their responsiveness and compassion. Natalia and Abigail were especially helpful. I am not sure how we would have managed without their support.
