Be very careful - advertised price on confused.com etc. is not what you will pay. Filter on 1 star reviews and you will see there are others with similar stories. Yes, I made a mistake in entering my details but stick with the whole review, especially the numbers and see if you still think “well that’s your fault…”You seem to take the policy out online, but once you have checked your details and made payment you are redirected to a call centre who essentially then go through all of the information you have put in already, nominally to validate the details are all correct but I suspect to try and find a way to requote and jack the price up. Told me that because I had misremembered the date of a speeding conviction from almost 4yrs ago by 4 months (which would still not bring it within the last 3yrs) then the price increased by £200. When I reran the quote on confused.com with that minor correction, guess what, exactly the same price as previous.A one off? I don’t think so, the previous day I had looked to take out the policy and forgot that speeding fine altogether (it is in my wife’s name and I thought it had already expired). In that case the price went from £550 on Confused.com to £1300 and then down to £1100 after “validation”. I reran the quote again on confused.com and the price had increased from £550 to just £576.Also note that after you “take out” the policy online, you are then contacted incessantly to go through the “validation process”, I had six calls yesterday am, each time I explained that I was at work and didn’t have the time to talk through all those details. Another red flag maybeFeels like a bait and switch at best
