I ordered a āfree trialā from Verb Energy on May 5, 2025, and paid only for shipping. Nowhere during checkout was I clearly informed that I was signing up for a subscription ā no opt-in box, no confirmation screen, no email warning. But on May 27, they charged me $79 and automatically shipped another box.The only mention of recurring billing was hidden in small text on the product page, with no way to decline or agree. Thatās not how ethical subscriptions work. I never received a notice before the charge, and I only found out after checking my bank account.I tried to contact customer service (via email, text, and social media) and received no response. I canceled immediately, but they had already shipped the product ā and I never wanted it.This feels sneaky and intentionally misleading. Iām extremely disappointed, and I hope Verb Energy reevaluates how they handle subscriptions. Consumers deserve clear, upfront communication and a chance to opt in ā not be tricked into recurring charges.
