Public Nuisance

This company should be considered a public nuisance and is in no position to confirm or deny anyone's identity. I doubt founder and CEO, Kaarel Kotkas has ever worked a door at a night club let alone taken a class in IT security.His origin story begins, innocently enough, with an endearing tale of documents tampering in which he openly relates an incident admitting to forgery in order to bypass a simple, yet largely meaningless, security check and now the rest of us must pay for his past indiscretions for so long as he chooses to run his business. Consequently, this is where Kaarel received the inspiration for his company because who doesn’t love a good redemption arc amirite? And, though he claims to have disavowed his past criminality, we're just supposed to trust him and take him at his word that he's reformed and only wants to protect us from people like himself all the while positioning himself as a concerned industry expert by interfering with the publics’ right to conduct business unless you surrender your personal information to his, so called, advanced AI system.It’s probably worth mentioning that last year a settlement was reached in the amount of 4 million dollars between McGowen, et al. v. Veriff, Inc. The lawsuit alleged that Veriff, Inc. had collected individuals' Biometrics data through its identity verification technology without first providing the individuals with legally required written disclosures and obtaining written consent. Veriff admitted no wrongdoing despite clear evidence to the contrary.My purpose in publishing this review is to illustrate how Veriff has prevented me (and probably others) from engaging in legitimate business dealings, potentially costing me income, for failing to surrender my personal details despite Veriff’s troubled history of forgery, poor judgment and privacy abuse.
