This is a review for Dose by VH which has replaced Garden of wisdom in Victoria health skincare products. So I bought used and loved GOW Alpha Arbutin 2% and Kojic Acid 1% Serum, My acne scars were vanishing and my skin tone was getting bright and even. I'd only bought it 2 months ago but the changes were outstanding and I loved that the formula was simple. So, even before I finished it I was preparing to buy another when I saw it had a new name and packaging...Dose by VH, this made me weary because it was already perfect but after having a quick read through it looked like it had the same formulation but just different packaging. So, I bought it and when my GOW serum finished I started to use the DOSE BY VH Alpha Arbutin 2% and Kojic Acid 1% Serum, within a day I had these little tiny closed comodons popping up in places I never break out; like my mouth and the sides of my nose...I was so confused. My acne has been in control for a year and normally when I break out it's my cheeks and jaw affected and the type of acne are cystic pimples and white heads. These mini closed spots was new to me. I continued using the serum thinking it would help the new hyperpigmentation I was getting from theses random spots but I kept getting them for the 2 weeks i was using it. I decided to take a new look at my products starting with this serum and I saw the formula isn't the same! They added Lactobacillus Ferment as the second ingredient! I researched this ingredient and found out it barely has any studies and the studies it does have were done by Estee lauder...and it has nothing to do with skin brightening. Two studies suggest it might help with acne, might! I also found out that some people have Ferment sensitivity...meaning they are sensitive to fermented products and can break out from them. Also people who are prone to fungal acne can be affected by fermented products. This is what happened to me. I'm so upset about this. My hyperpigmitation is worse because of the reaction this product gave me. I can't use a whole lot of product because I'm acne prone and skin sensitive the GOW version was perfect and now I will never be able to get it again. Looking at a few other Dose by VH it seems that this ingredient has been added to other products. I wish they mentioned it in the product information on the website then I wouldn't have bought it and my skin could have still been as clear as it was.
