The ViennaPass website doesn't indicate that a €9 supplement is required to visit the royal apartments, but even when we showed the ViennaPass at the Schönbrunn ticket office, they didn't mention anything. We couldn't pay the supplement later because we had already used the ViennaPass entrance fee and would have had to pay for the entrance fee plus the supplement. Typical Teutonic rigidity.The problem isn't whether the royal apartments were included or not, the problem isn't paying €9. The problem is that neither the ViennaPass nor the ticket office informed us, and this prevented us from paying the €9 and preventing us from seeing the royal apartments. What a disorganization!!!
