Buyer beware - every other vision insurance has “once per calendar year” limitation on benefits, which makes sense. But VSP has a “no sooner than 12 months from last visit” rule that seem designed to avoid paying out the benefits. Went for new contacts just as my one year supply from the last visit was about to expire, over 11 months from the last visit, and they refused to payout the benefits because it was just before the one-year mark. Evidently you have to literally RUN OUT of your annual supply before you can go to a new appointment for the next year’s supply. I can understand not paying for two months in a row, but to have a rule that you have to wait until after you run out to get your next year’s supply of contacts is ridiculous and practically fraudulent as an insurance practice.
