Waddesdon Estates ( Golden Mede Housing) ...... Potential buyers on this development should be aware that Japanese Knotweed was found on the land in 2016 and the treatment is an ongoing and lengthy process not scheduled to complete before 2021 at the earliest.Full details concerning Knotweed can be found on line along with damage that can be caused to property, legal requirements, values etc.We had been looking to purchase here for sometime and there was never any mention of this by the site sales staff either prior to or when we paid a reservation deposit last August ...... it was not until the 11th hour when the information was received from the sellers solicitors that all was revealed and just prior to exchange of contracts. We decided to withdraw from the deal but by this time a lot of energy, time and money had been expended. The Consumer Code for Housebuilders clearly indicates that Home Buyers must be given enough pre-purchase information to help them make suitably informed purchasing decisions. This is clearly not the case on the Golden Mede development as none of the site staff (sales or builders) routinely run through the information so Buyers Beware !!
