We went to try the new vegan options as they’d added a couple for Veganuary despite taking off a whole load last year. They’d run out of the taco starter, despite having it advertised everywhere on the sheets in front of us. They’d also run out of the vegan bao buns as the waitress said it’s ’off the menu now’…so assuming that means yet another vegan option gone?

The Udonara was grim. But it was watery and the bacon was burnt and it tasted like coriander dishwater.

We also asked for two portions of gyoza and they only brought one out; when we enquired the waiter went off to find out where the second portion was and never came back.

An incredibly poor experience overall and very disappointing that they’ve given up on their vegan customer base despite once pledging that they would make 50% of their menu plant based. Guess we won’t be returning.

Wagamama Swansea

I went to collect my click and collect order at Swansea city gates restaurant. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to notice me. When noone did, I went to the till, only then the waitress came to me and spoke rudely looking down to floor and hand pointing towards exit and said could you wait outside. Complained to the lady manager named Hanj or Sanj who tried to justify her subordinates disgusting behavior, not even had decency to say sorry or apologies for my experience. Pathetic behaviour on staff part.

RIP off garnish sized portion

Wagamama’s Woodside Watford. Whilst the issue was resolved by the manageress in the end. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and prawn yaki soba noodles, was served with what I estimate was less than 50g of chicken so literally 4 small tiny thin pieces even though I’d ordered the dish with extra chicken. It was an absolute p take. Especially at a cost of nearing £20 for the dish as well! The greens that came first were cold and being the only dish on the table when I told the server it was cold he asked me ‘what part of it is cold’ 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. My dish was eventually replaced for a donburi chicken and I ordered extra chicken. The dish was literally 2/3rds of a bowl of just dry white rice with what I would say was a standard amount of chicken on it, certainly not a large ‘extra’ portion. By the end of it I was so filled up with the rice it was extremely disappointing and feels like Wagamama purposely make the bowl and portion appear big by stuffing the bowl full of the cheapest ingredient they can use to bulk it out.The heating never seems to work in the winter either and I see them resorting now to electric heaters plugged in to try and counteract this. Last time I ate there it was so cold I couldn’t feel my hands and they said the heating wasn't working then but this was 3 months ago and still today the heating was not working!Never again! This branch is truly awful, the staff are surly and uncaring when you complain and I have probably eaten at this branch half a dozen times since it opened. Most time there has been a problem with the meal and service or the temperature in the restaurant, no experience was as bad as this evening though! Avoid!

I've eaten Chilli Chicken Ramen for decades and this was such a disappointment. The soup had no umami flavour and was just sweet and not edible. Noodles were overcooked and overall flavour was nothing to do with Chilli Ramen soup. The whole new menu was a disaster too. Very disappointed and will unfortunately have to stop going.

Won't refund missing items.

Clicked through from their website to order from Plymouth Deliveroo. Two items missing. Deliveroo refusing to refund unless I send a photo of the food that did arrive, but we'd already eaten it. Didn't know I had to take a photo! What a joke. Stolen my money basically. Won't order again.

Wagamama go back to bland

Wagamama have often removed the more interesting menu items in the past but this new menu for the last quarter of 2025 has stripped it of anything good. The curries, noodles and rice mains that remain are all so simple that most could make at home. Obviously the less said about the bathwater ramen the better, though you think they would try out a proper full bodied broth at some point.I won't forgive you for no longer providing the Tama Squid, I would have defended all of these changes if there was still a convenient way of getting takoyaki in most cities. Alas, Wagamama is now a poster child for British blandness and that's the last thing we need. I would suggest anyone try literally any other Asian restaurant if you want to eat something more worth your while.

They kept my change under pressure to…

They kept my change under pressure to tip First visit to Wagamama heard good reports about the food . It was Christmas and we were celebrating my friend getting a job after a long period of unemployment. The food was okay and service appeared quite polite and pretty good until we got the bill there was £6 change owing my friend the young lady colleague swiftly came up whisked the cash away and said at the top of her voice “ Will you be needing that change !” Well she said it so quickly I was shocked my friend muttered looking painfully embarrassed “ emm no ok “ to which she’d already left with the money and gave a backwards glance !How utterly embarrassing a customer was within earshot too ! If we wanted to tip we would have left one as we often do ! Considering my friend is struggling finically too this was awful for them !! But to be put on the spot and embarrassed like this is not acceptable! He said afterwards he felt pressured into leaving more than he intended ! I would like your thoughts on this as this is not standard practice in the U.K. and everyone I’ve told was shocked and disgusted . It’s certainly put us off coming again !

Holding back my money!

Went for a meal to the London Clink branch a month ago and accidentally tipped the bill amount plus the tip, instead of the tip amount. Manageress was great and said she would write to head office to secure the refund. No update so went to the store and was re-assured this would get resolved soon. Still not resolved. I know this was an oversight on my part but this company is sitting on my cash. No respect for customer

I have dined at Wagamama quite often over the years but I found the Bluewater branch to be frankly awful. My ramen was horrid, the broth was thin and cold and the tasted of nothing, my juice was delivered by a waiter with a cold with his fingers on the rim of the glass and the service overall was surly. £70 for 2 courses and 2 drinks was far too much given the quality was poor by any standards.
