My mother passed away unexpectedly at the beginning of August. Right from my first phone call with Andy at Walters in Sedgley, I felt as though I was being taken care of. My appointment with him was swift and he was able to take all the necessary details in a really kind and comforting manner when it was such a distressing time. I originally looked for a family-run funeral directors because I wanted a more personal experience, I wanted to feel like I was a family member grieving and not just there to line some mass corporations pocket - I could not have chosen better. They responded to every email inquiry, every phone call, every little question I had and were so very kind and professional whilst doing so.In the build up to the funeral, Walters arranged for me to view my mother at the Tipton main branch and were instrumental in helping me make the decision to do so (as I was unsure). I felt like the decision was mine to make and they were able to support me through it. Even going as far as to offer to come into the chapel with me when they originally thought I was coming on my own. On the day of the funeral, everything went as well as it possibly could. I had never taken such a centre stage at a funeral before and wasn't sure where to go/when to go and was so very grateful for the guidance shown to me by the funeral directors on the day. Something as simple as a nod in the right direction made all the difference when I was so completely overwhelmed with grief. I was able to collect my mother's ashes within a week and they were beautifully and respectfully presented in the urn that I had chosen. Andy arranged for them to be brought to the Sedgley branch for my convenience and dealt with me personally when I went to collect them. I cannot (& wouldn't) fault the service and care I experienced with A & A Walters - specifically the Sedgley branch and Andy himself. He is the kindest, most understanding man - exactly the type of person you want when you feel like you're falling apart and don't know what to do.
