We have been experiencing a condensation issue in our loft necessitating the use of dehumidifier pots in the loft space. John Pickles called by prior arrangement and carried out a survey of the loft which revealed our 38 year old loft glass fibre insulation was ineffective and was showing signs of a black mold. He showed us several photos of our loft and discussed the remedial options with us. He recommended that the old glass fibre insulation was removed and replaced with Rock Wool at roof joist level. In addition the rafters would be treated and a multi foil was then attached to the rafters to combat condensation. There was no hard sell and he told us that we were free to use another local installer or to use Warmer Solutions. As JP had been helpful carefully explaining what was causing the condensation we decided to go ahead with WS. The work was carried out last Wednesday by Zack and Chaz who worked non stop to get the job done quickly and thoroughly. There was a query about the job materials but this was quickly resolved. The old insulation was picked up the next morning as promised to be disposed off in an environmentally safe manner. An immediate benefit was that in this hot weather the upstairs of the house is cooler and the loft space a better place for light storage. We are now keen to find out the potential gas central heating savings this winter and hopefully with effective loft insulation the house should warm up more quickly. We are glad to have got the job done now in time for next winter and to have little or no loft condensation.
