Cost me nearly 5 grand a year as a 17 year old for a Vauxhall corsa with a black box, the black box is in-comprehensively over sensitive meaning I got multiple warnings and low scores for normal driving then as I went to change companies (who gave me a lower price for an Audi q3 without a blackbox) I was told my insurance would drop to 1700 if I stayed with them for the consecutive year implying I was over paying for the first year for no reason. And just to top it off I sold the car to a friend who got quoted 1.3k with black box per year with a different company proving that marmelades pricing is off the charts and unregulated. Personally find this outrageous for a company with a target audience of ‘new drivers’.
