Got a phone call quite a while back offering a free website design (yes I should have known better nothing is for free) being self employed I thought that I needed a website so went ahead. This is where it all went a bit Pete Tong a phone call for money for upgrades, domain name, email address etc.. etc.. After spending approx £1000 got a Website that if I wanted to add photos or make amendments I had to email them with my alterations etc which wasn't user friendly or easy so I have up. Every now and then I'd get a call stating my ranking on Google wasn't great so more money for them to do something? In the end I finally saw sense and told them to stop looking after my website as I found someone local to me to do it, They called me to say I had to pay them £150+vat to transfer my website over so I refused and told them where to go. The person I've found locally knocked up a new and better website for £140 in a day 🤔
