We were looking for a survey on a house we wished to purchase and approached Websters Surveyors of Finchley. However their terms and conditions are totally unacceptable and there was no way we could possible agree to use them. We found another local surveyor of 25 years standing who didn't include any of these unfair and dangerous terms and only expected payment after completing the job.1 They state that any survey may not be used in any litigation. Why not? Don't they trust their own findings?2 They demand payment up front, without giving a fixed date to carry out the survey and they do not keep a separate client account and therefore do not conform to the RCIS standard of retaining customer's money in a separate account.3 They reserve the right, should they be unable to complete a survey on one visit for any reason, to charge any additional amount they choose!Take care. They try to achieve a very quick and slick on-line approval and payment process, perhaps hoping that people won't read the T & Cs. Take care.
